I have had a really naff week. At the start of it all was going well, the order for the contract I had been working on for the last year was placed and all was going smoothly, then on Wednesday afternoon they cancelled the order and are now not going ahead. This means both my business and personal finances are going to be shot to pieces and we are going to struggle to make ends meet. It is possible that I will lose my job due to the damage this will do to the business.

We have prayed for this contact to come in over the last few months and seen many obstacles over come and we were elated on Monday when it was finally ‘closed’ and the order placed. Out of the blue it is cancelled through no fault of mine or my companies.

Now we feel deflated, angry, annoyed, concerned and a little worried.

So where is God in all this mess?

Well He has not changed; He is still God He is still in charge. He still loves us, cares for us and comfort’s us. Due to our love and security in Him this disaster has not destroyed us or blown us apart. Yes we feel battered but we also know the soothing balm of His love. Yes our financial security has been rocked, yet we are still secure in Him.

Am I fearful for the future, no I am not, I have a God who loves me and will provide for me and my family. Maybe we will go through a time of famine or maybe I will have to seek employment elsewhere. Maybe there is a miracle around the corner. Either way I don’t fear the future as God is my strength, my hope and my joy.

So on Sunday I will be praising Him, because He deserves it. I will worship Him, for He is the only one who I should worship and I will be joyful in all circumstances for my joy is found in Him.
