So get out your seats and jump around, Jump around, jump around, jump around

Did you know that the bible actually tells us to jump around? Did you know that it was Jesus himself who said to jump around?  When was the last time you jumped around for Joy? That is what Jesus actually said was be full of cheer and jumping  around with gladness.

Wow! Now that could be life changing for us.

So where can you find this instruction, is it in some section of Pauls epistle’s for the charismaniacs to grab a hold of and distort.. …. no!

Is it some obscure passage in the old testament that we can ignore…..no….!

It is in fact in Matthew 5 as part of the beatitudes! The actual context is this

“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

He actually full translation of that is be full of cheer and jump around with gladness! So when you’re persecuted for Jesus just remember, you are supposed to jump around and make a lot of noise. But what is good for the bad times is doubly so for the good time. So let’s all jump around with joy and make lots of noise on a more regular basis.

I searched and searched on youtube for a clip that would show this off by what I (that is me, Beatthedrum) think this should look like…. all I could find was this clip of when the Sunderland fans found out that the toon army were going to be playing the championship this season.. This is cheering and jumping for joy!

so from now on will you be looking like a demented kangaroo at all times?

what about mourning when other mourn? you’ll look a bit silly doing this while jumping for joy.

I’m not disagreeing with you, just suggesting that if for all things there is a season then jumping for joy comes under this heading.

Even Jesus said that this behaviour was for a certain time i.e. “when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”

so yes jump for joy but based on this scripture only when others are persecuting you on His account.

No i agree Chris I was being as usual flippant about things.

Can you give me the reference for mourning with those who mourn I cannot find it.

It is truely amazing that we are to do this when we are persecuted or attacked. Still i guess thats because our faith is not based on what we feel or what our circumstances are we are built in a firm foundation of a good and loving creator saviour God. Prasie Him!… still dont want to be persecued if I can help it though!

I see myself more as tigger from winnie the poo…

    Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
